TRICYCLE drivers and operators in Dagupan are seeking P12 minimum fare for every two kilometers and P4 for every kilometer thereafter per passenger on account of the continuing increase in the price of fuel.

GRANTING non-wage reliefs to employees is a better option than giving salary increases.

Labor officials in a forum Friday urged employers to adopt this system which they said would benefit both management and labor.
Region 1 wage board secretary Ezequiel Guzman told the orientation on Wage Order No. 13 at the Lyceum-Northwestern University that non-wage reliefs do not hurt both sectors unlike the grant of wage increase, which he said was not a “win-win situation.”

FOUR members of the so called “budol-budol” gang one of them the ring leader, were arrested while trying to kidnap an old man they intended to victimized last July 3 following a brief chase.

The ring leader of the gang, identified as Carlos Pingol, 49, of San Gabriel Street, Macabebe Pampanga, was arrested while dragging Ordinario Manalo, 63, to their closed van, colored while with Plate No. TMN-909 along Mayombo Perez road at about 9 a.m.

LINGAYEN—Fourteen government hospitals in Pangasinan most of which are now old and dilapidated, are now simultaneously undergoing rehabilitation and expansion.

THE Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources has assured that the fish being sold in Dagupan, Pangasinan and the entire Region 1 are safe to eat.

BFAR Regional Director Nestor Domenden made the assurance in the face of reports that fewer people are now buying fish following the sinking of MV Princess of the Stars off San Fernando town in Romblon where hundreds of people drowned and the cadavers of the victims have not yet been recovered.
