P40M medical donation from Cardinal Santos Medical Center arrives
FORTY MILLION pesos worth of medical equipments, supplies and medicines donated by Cardinal Santos Medical Center have been turned over to the provincial government of Pangasinan on June 19 at the Capitol Plaza in Lingayen, supporting the medical needs of typhoon “Cosme” victims and boosting the vision of Gov. Amafo T. Espino Jr. to make public hospitals competitive with the private hospitals.
During the turnover ceremony, the items of the first of three batches of deliveries were turned over to the provincial government of Pangasinan thru the Eastern Pangasinan Filipino0-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry President and the concurrent Abono partylist Chairman, Engr. Rosendo M. So.
The second batch will be turned over next week while the last batch will be handed over on the succeeding week.
So pledge to continue soliciting support from the private sector in response to the governor’s appeal for help to rehabilitate the damages wrought by the recent typhoon.
So also announced during the turnover ceremony that he brought with him a check amounting to P1.26 million as the federation’s counterpart support for the construction of six school classrooms in the municipality of Sison.
Likewise, the Eastern Pangasinan Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been conducting a series of medical missions starting last week in Bayambang.
Its next medical mission is scheduled this Saturday in Alcala, nd on the 28th in Malasiqui.
Espino disclosed that there is an ongoing repair of the 14 government hospitals in an effort to be at par with that of modern private hospitals.
The governor said he has instructed Provincial Population Officer Luzviminda Muego “to embark on the remaining enrollees from the 4th, 5th and 6th class municipalities to attain a 100% enrolment to Philhealth.
“I have instructed her further to cover 50,000 Philhealth enrollees from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd class municipalities including the 3 cities, in the next two weeks,” the governor added.
