Preacher dies in Ilocos Sur road mishap
STA. CRUZ, Ilocos Sur— A preacher died when the motorcycle he was riding on was bumped by a car from the side along the national highway in Barangay Villa Garcia, last Wednesday.
Chief Inspector Jojit Prado, chief of police of Sta. Cruz, identified the victim as Fernando Puli, 66, of the Iglesia Independiente Aglipayana.
The victim was from barangay Capariaan, Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur.
Investigation showed both vehicles were traveling towards north direction with the motorcycle running in front of the car driven by one Delfin Canaoay, 34, a native from Munoz East, Roxas, Isabela.
The accident occurred when Puli swerved his motorcycle to the left as the car accelerated to overtake it.
Puli slammed into the windshield of the car before falling down the road pavement, causing him serious body injuries.
The driver of the car rushed Puli immediately to the Tagudin General Hospital before he was transferred to the Ilocos Region Training and Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.(PNA)
