UNDER the leadership of Chairman Cesar T. Duque and Dr. Catalino Rivera Jr., the University of Pangasinan has launched new and innovative programs designed to sustain its mission as the education leader in Region I and access its graduates high-salaried employment after completing their college degrees.
Dr. Rivera identified “Grow @ UPang,” a graduates’ services program handled by External Linkages and Alumni Relations Office that would link graduates across programs to competitive places of employment and opportunIties maximizing use of their knowledge, skills and abilities including values and dispositions gained from their university-based courses and programs.”
The program, he stressed, will “broaden a UPang graduate’s social and economic opportunities and life options including graduating students to improve their socio economic circumstances beyond their university lives, and facilitate the employment or placement of graduates to competitive and beneficial job positions in the labor market.”
Details of the program can be obtained at the President’s office, it was learned.
In outlining this university program, Dr. Rivera said he was buoyed by reports that under his presidency enrolment in UPang has always been on the increase, “a testimony to a recent poll that UPang is the most trusted education institution in Region l.”
Founded in l925, the University of Pangasinan has produced many board topnotchers in all courses since way back its first years under her founder and first president, the late Dr. Blas F. Rayos.
The mantle of leadership of the university was later passed on to George Rayos, the founder ‘s son. The younger Rayos later succumbed to a sickness.
Under the present leadership of Mr..Duque, UPang has taken the front seat in the academe, falling back on a sterling performance of its many graduates whose track record in the global job market is unparalleled.
Under the “Grow @ UPang” program, “l00 percent” of its graduates who want to work locally or internationally are referred for screening and placement in competitive positions that fit their qualifications.
The program has linked up with at least one legitimate networked human resource services agency operating internationally and with respectable credibility.
