BANGUED, Abra – A lawyer was shot and killed by unidentified suspects inside his office, located right at his residence along Pratt Street, Zone 4, Bangued, Abra last Sunday afternoon.

The victim, Atty. Demetrio Pre, 75, was talking to his client when the suspects barged inside his office and shot him twice with the use of a caliber .45 pistol.

Inspector Manuel Tan, operations officer of the Bangued Police Station, said Pre was hit in his forehead and left eye. He was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital in Bangued town.

Investigation showed that the incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. when the victim and his client, Bernardo Banez, 75, also of Zone 2, Bangued, Abra, were talking inside Pre’s law office.

Banez was reportedly seeking information about his hearing the next day, April 21, in connection with a civil case he filed against one Chairmaine Burgos involving a land dispute sometime in 2000, when the armed men barged inside.

Investigators recovered empty shells for Caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene.
