Pangasinan assessor is tops nationwide

LINGAYEN – Pangasinan Provincial Assessor Nestor P. Quiambao was recently adjudged the Most Outstanding Provincial Assessor of the Philippines.

The award was given by the Department of Finance-Bureau of Local Government Finance (DF-BLGF) during the 75th annual convention of the Philippine Association of Local Treasurers and Assessors (PHALTRA) Incorporated, held recently at the Mall of Asia (SMX) Convention Center in Pasay City.

Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. commended Quiambao stressing that the award is considered as a pride and accomplishment of the whole province “for it signifies hardwork, dedication to duty and collaborative efforts of the whole workforce of the treasury and assessment offices of the provincial government.”

According to Peter D. Baluyan, Regional Director of DF-BLGF, said that the selection was based on the local government unit’s revenue generation program and overall output during the past three years in which Pangasinan has achieved a remarkable performance.

Earlier, the Provincial Assessor’s Office registered a marked fiscal collection of P160 million representing unpaid real property tax of the Sual Power Corporation.

The Provincial Treasurer’s Office likewise earned a regional citation for Pangasinan as the top real property collector for its overwhelming gross collection of more than P200 million from July to December 2007. (PIO/Ruby R. Bernardino)
