STA. MARIA,. Ilocos Sur—A man was killed by his own son in Barangay Poblacion Sur, Sta. Maria town evening of April 14.

The victim, Maximo Dumlao, 69, reportedly strangled his wife, prompting his son Diosdado to punch and kick him in the breast.
PO3 Narciso Barcelona, duty investigator of the Sta. Maria police station, said the victim had a violent quarrel with his wife, Eropagita Dumlao, so Diosdado intervened.

The elder Dumlao was rushed to a nearby hospital responding policemen but declared dead on arrival.

The suspect voluntarily surrendered to policemen after the incident.(PNA)
