ROSALES—This crossroad eastern Pangasinan town anticipates an economic boom soon after the opening of a big shopping mall of Shoe Mart Inc.(SM) in barangay Carmen East here before the end of the year.

Rosales Mayor Ricardo Revita believes the SM shopping mall will serve as a magnet for other business and interest groups to come into his town.

SM is now building its shopping mall on a 10-hectare land it bought in barangay Carmen, Rosales.
Revita said he was informed that SM department store will be the first to open in December this year while the recreational component, including its cinema, will follow soon.

Revita said the coming of SM is in consonance with the town’s land use plan that set aside areas for commercial, industrial, residential and eco-tourism zone.

He said Rosales is lucky because it is in the crossroad between Manila and Laoag and between the western part of Pangasinan and Cagayan Valley.

Rosales also produces vegetables, corn, mushroom and other agricultural products that could sustain a growing commercial community, Revita said.(PNA)
