Tapuac-Lucao roadwork now 60% complete

UPGRADING of a portion of the Dagupan-Lingayen road in barangay Tapuac, Dagupan City is now 60 percent complete, according to 2nd Highway District Engineer Rodolfo Dion.

The upgrading project, costing P20 million from the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of former Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., has caused the present heavy vehicular traffic in the city from sunrise to sundown along Tapuac and Lucao roads.

Dion apologized to residents and motorist explaining that the upgrading work seeks to elevate the road by 70 centimeters in order that the particular stretch will not be flooded again.

The road stretch easily gets flooded on rainy season with the highest flood level reaching 50 centimeters, Dion said.

At 50 centimeter flood level, the wheel of cars are submerged, Aside form that inundation in that stretch usually last from three to four days, he added.
