LINGAYEN- - The celebration of Pistay Dayat which used to be perceived as a mere Lingayen activity has been repackaged as a provincial summer spectacle with a host of new and meaningful events for all ages to enjoy and cherish, according to the organizers.

Re-branded as Pangasinan Pistay Dayat, the annual sea festival kicks off with a blast of sights and sounds on April 24 with the staging of the country’s first Grand Orchestra Showdown featuring top homegrown street orchestras.

CITY Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. is still uncertain when the more than four-kilometer Dawel-Lucao Road, with a long bridge in the middle, will finally open.

He said the more than one billion peso project, the biggest yet in Pangasinan, is undergoing the final touches of its construction to date.

It will, however, still have to be turned over by the contractors to the Department of Public Works and Highways.

THE fate of a former councilor of San Fabian who was kidnapped by armed men in barangay Bolasi, San Fabian on Holy Tuesday is still unknown.

There was no word or messages yet from the kidnappers of Roland Villegas if he is still alive.

Ransom is possibly not a motive because it appears his family has not received any demand from the kidnappers till today.
