280 jobseekers register in Pangasinan jobs fair
LINGAYEN—A total of 280 jobseekers applied during a special jobs fair for health and medical workers held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center here on March 7.
Sponsored by the Provincial Employment and Services Office (PESO), the jobs fair was to recruit workers who will be deployed in the countries like New Zealand, Norway, Cyprus, Canada, Brunei, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States.
Those who applied were doctors, nurses, caregivers, pharmacists, medical technologists, midwives, physical therapists, dentists, x-ray technicians, respiratory therapists, dental assistants, medical record technicians and medical record clerks.
Alex Ferrer, PESO chief, said another job fair for these medical worker practitioners will be conducted soon as the Canadian labor markets are currently in need of around 1.9 million foreign workers.
Participating agencies in the special jobs fair include Skills Interanational Company Inc., Reliable Recruitment Corporation, GBMLT Manpower Service Inc., Princess Joy Placement and General Services Inc., Camox Phils., Inc., Mason Drug Corporation, Evacare Medical Clinic and St. Joseph Drugstore.
The next job fair is scheduled on April 18, 2008, for hotel and restaurant management workers. (PNA)
