LINGAYEN - - - Pangasinan joins the nationwide Women’s Month celebration with this year’s carrying theme, “CEDAW ng Bayan, Yaman ng Kababaihan.”
CEDAW, which means Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women, serves as an urgent call to raise the consciousness of women of their rights and empower them to become strong and self-sufficient individual.
The provincial government through the provincial social welfare office, has organized a group called Provincial Federation of Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (Kalipi) that will spearhead efforts at encouraging women especially in the grassroots level to participate in the development efforts for their own advancement. COLEGIO de Dagupan (CdD) registered for the second time the highest passing percentage all over Pangasinan in the recently released Nursing Licensure Examination results last December 2007.
With a 56% passing percentage of its remaining first-batch nursing graduates, CdD maintained its prestige and surpassed the performance of many universities and colleges in the province again.
The national passing percentage is only 43%. Read more

LINGAYEN – The Philippine Ports Authority has sent a team for a preliminary conference with provincial officials and department heads led by Governor Amado T. Espino recently to fast track technical survey and development plans for the Sual International Seaport approved by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo during her February 16 visit to Binalonan.
The seven-man team met with Espino and other officials at Urduja House here. They were requested by the governor to finish the survey and plans within a month and to include designs for a shipbuilding and repair facility for deep-sea fishing vessels.
