Aim High Pinay project rolling

THE National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women (NCRFW), the government’s machinery for the advancement of women, fully supports the Aim High Pinay Campaign spearheaded by Modess Philippines (Johnson&Johnson) and in partnership with Women’s Feature Service (WFS) and Bridges@Com.

The campaign is looking for inspiring stories of women (aged 13-35 years) who are aiming high and working hard to achieve their dreams.

The search covers three categories: body (sports, health and wellness, fitness, fashion), mind (career, skills, entrepreneurship, music, literature, art), and soul (socio-civic causes, family, faith).

The Aim High Pinay Campaign aims to raise a higher level of consciousness for women to seek ways to further improve themselves… to do more and achieve more. Above it all, women get the inspiration and strength from the people and causes that they care about.

Women from rural areas, indigenous peoples group, differently-abled women can be nominated regardless of education or social status as long as they have aimed high, stepped up and still aiming for more.

The Aim High Pinay campaign was launched last December 3, 2007 with popular movie and television actress Judy Ann Santos as spokesperson. Aside from Santos, Modess has chosen six more women to be “champions” of the campaign: Caissa Saguisag (gymnast), Leslie Ching (skating champion), Patrice Ramos Diaz (designer), Celine Bengzon (singer/actress), Pam Pastor (editor and band vocalist), and Baicon Macaraya (peace advocate, head of sub-office, UN World Food Programme).

Interested parties may submit their nominations through email at ird@ncrfw.gov.ph (NCRFW), wfsphil@tri-isys.com or wfsphilown@gmail.com (WFS). Deadline of submission of entries is on March 15, 2008.

Details may be obtained at the NCRFW website www.ncrfw.gov.ph where the nomination form is available.
