2 city officials to U.S. to promote Bangus Festival

TWO officials of the city government are now in the United State to invite overseas Dagupenos to attend this year’s Bangus Festival slated sometime in April this year.

Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez and Councilor Alfie Fernandez left for the U.S. on Saturday to meet with officers and members of various Dagupan associations in the U.S., especially in the Bay Area.

The two officials will promote the city to overseas Dagupenos and entice them to invest their money back home in projects that will create jobs and opportunities.

They brought with them video footages showing Dagupan as it is today, the new sights and edifices that were put up over the years, including the soon-to-be completed landmark project Dawel-Pantal-Lucao road with a new bridge in the middle.

Vice Mayor Fernandez is chair of the coming 16-day Bangus Festival which for the first time will go regional and not confined only in Dagupan and Pangasinan.

The vice mayor said this year’s Bangus Festival will feature the Northern Luzon Festival where all the champion street dancers in Northern Luzon will be invited to show their wares and compete for the top prize of P150,000.

All the sports events, like taekwondo, badminton, beach volleyball and others will be competed by individuals and teams from various parts of the region, except bowling which will be a national competition.

The two Dagupan officials will be back after nine days. (PNA)
