JDV: ‘My projects will continue’
ALL development projects promised by former Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., congressman of the fourth district of Pangasinan in his district will push through even if he is no longer the House Speaker.
Dagupan City Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez said Congressman de Venecia himself assured this in his meeting with political leaders of the fourth district the previous Saturday and Sunday.
This includes the new police station of Dagupan where de Venecia promised last year a counterpart of P3 million from his own Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
The new PNP building is set to be constructed on a lot of the city vacated by the former Pangasinan Teacher’s Memorial and Philippine National Red Cross Chapter.
In this project, the Philippine National Police set aside P11 million while the Dagupan City government’s counterpart is the lot itself.
“According to former Speaker de Venecia, all his projects will not be affected, and we are happy for that,” Fernandez said.
She said there is no reason why the progress and development of Dagupan and the fourth district will be affected just because of the differences between the congressman and President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
