Fil-Am psychiatric doctors from Oklahoma treat locals

SEVEN Filipino-American psychiatric doctors from Oklahoma, U.S.A. are conducting a medical mission in Dagupan to treat psychiatric patients or those suffering from mental disorders.

The two-day medical mission that started on Thurday was in coordination with the Philippines Mental Health Association chapter headed by Mrs. Elmina Fernandez, wife of the city mayor, and the Dagupan City government.

Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez lauded the medical mission headed by Dr. Maria Kane, a psychiatrist and past president of the Philippine Medical Association—Oklahoma U.S.A. chapter.

The group has been conducting its medical mission in Dagupan City the past two years.

Vice Mayor Fernandez said the Fil-Am doctors from Oklahoma brought along with them medicines not only for people suffering from mental disorders and psychosis but also for all other patients.

Ramon Reyna, past president of the PMHA chapter, said more than 100 patients were initially treated on the first day of the mission which was undertaken along with local doctors.

Dr. Rebecca Feliciano, a Fil-Am doctor from Dagupan, coordinated the medical mission. (PNA)
