2 more Dagupan drug pushers fall

TWO more notorious drug pushers were arrested in two separate buy-bust operations conducted by operatives of the local police on Tuesday in their continuing campaign to rid the city of illegal drugs.

The first operation conducted by operatives led by Police Inspectors Leo Llamas and George Sali-em in Pantal District here at 3:30 p.m. arrested Romelo Doria, 47, of barangay Nalsian-Pogo in Calasiao.

He was seized and handcuffed right after selling two-heat sealed sachets of suspected shabu weighing 0.1 gram to one of the police operatives who posed as buyer.

Three more plastic sachets, all weighing one gram, and several empty sachets, one scissor and the buy-bust operation money were seized from the suspect.

Another suspect, Angelo Deperio, alias ‘Karlo’, 31, was arrested in the second operation at 6:30 p.m. at Dior Village on Arellano Street, participated in by elements of the Special Operations Group (SOG), Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group and the Dagupan Police.

This operation was led by Senior Inspector Elmer de Vera and Chief Inspector Rodelio Samson, SOG group director.

Deperio was arrested after handing one heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.5gram to an SOG operative who posed as a buyer.

Also seized from him were three pieces of P100 bill of the marked money.

Both operations were conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Region 1.

The suspects have already been charged with violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the new Anti-Drugs Act. (PNA)
