Bataoil sees coming transfer
By DANNY O. SAGUN
THE retirement in February and March of two senior police officers heading two major units will pave the way for a reshuffling of key men especially of senior officers.
This was bared by Regional Police Director Leopolodo Bataoil in an indirect answer to a question on the possibility of his reassignment soon from the Ilocos regional police office to somewhere else.
Due to be vacated are the top posts in the criminal investigation and detection group (CIDG) and the directorate for operations
Bataoil said that as of now he does not know where his new assignment would be and the other senior officers although he revealed that the reshuffle is already being deliberated in Camp Crame. The decision rests with the chief of the PNP, Director-General Avelino Razon and President Macapagal-Arroyo, he noted.
Bataoil has been Region l PNP chief for one year and three months already.
Meanwhile, the transformation torch run, which started from Infanta to San Fabian for Pangasinan and all the way up the northernmost point, Pagudpod town, for the rest of the Ilocos region, is now headed to Region 2.
The torch run is symbol to the PNP’s renewal efforts – physical, mental, moral and spiritual dimensions. Part of the transformation program, he said, include the upgrading of facilities like police stations even in remote areas as well as the capability of personnel particularly investigators.
