Pangasinan Provincial Meet set in Tayug Jan. 28-31

TAYUG—The Pangasinan Provincial Meet to be participated in by athletes from public and private schools will reef off here from January 28-31 with Governor Amado Espino Jr., as guest of honor and speaker.

The Tayug National High School athletic oval, the renovation and improvement of which is now being rushed, will serve as venue for the four-day meet.

The P1.5 million fund being used for sprucing up the venue came from the provincial government, allocated by the provincial board through Vice Governor and presiding officer Marlyn Primicias-Agabas, an alumna of TNHS.

The municipal government through Mayor Carlos Trese Mapili made available 2, 500 pieces of hollow blocks, 10 truck loads of sand and gravel and 50 bags of cement.

Amenities, like athletic stand, referees’ stand, hurdles and scoreboard were funded thru a P20,000 donation from the TNHS Parents Teachers Community Association headed by Assistant Provincial Prosecutor Noel Bince.

Equipment like stoppers for softball and baseball came from teachers of District 1 headed by Brigida Goloyogo and District 2 headed by Dr. Virginia Maceda.

Tayug is venue of the provincial meet after San Quintin headed by Mayor Clark Chui gave way. (PNA)
