San Carlos City money changer held up
SAN CARLOS CITY—A woman money changer was held up of $80,000 U.S and 90,000 Japanese yen by three men armed with hand guns in Barangay Ano here on December 27 while on board a pick-up.
Mercy Garcia, 30, of barangay Tarece this city was aboard her vehicle driven by her nephew, Joven Garcia, 17, when they were stopped at gunpoint by the suspects riding on a motorcycle.
The holdup men covered their faces with handkerchiefs.
When the pick-up pulled over, the suspects shot the front wheels of the pick-up and forcibly took the victim’s bag containing the money, checks, cellular phone and identifications cards.
Responding policemen recovered five empty shells for 9mm pistol and one shell for Cal.45.
The police said the day before, Garcia and her companion escaped an earlier attempt to hold them up in Malasiqui.
