NATIVIDAD – Police and barangay officials recovered parts of a human skeleton believed to be that of a New People’s Army amazon on Saturday in barangay Batchelor East here.

The police believe that scattered skeletal remains found in a remote area in the mountain trails of the village belonged to a female guerilla who was wounded in an encounter with the military in eastern Pangasinan sometime in August, this year.

She might have been carried away by comrades in their escape from the encounter site bud died along the way and abandoned by the rebels.

The skeletal remains were first found by hunters who informed barangay officials who then relayed the same to the Natividad
Police.

No trace of identification was found on the remains, except that the cadaver was wearing a female clothing.

The skeletal remains were gathered and placed in a sack and now under the custody of Natividad Police Station from where relatives of the deceased could claim these. (PNA)
