Japanese suicide at hotel identified

THE Japanese national who committed suicide inside one of the rooms of Star Plaza Hotel in Dagupan City was finally identified with the arrival on Wednesday of the Japanese consul in Manila, according to the police.

Sr. Supt. Dionicio Borromeo, chief of police of Dagupan, said the suicide victim was identified as one Hega Seisa Boro, 70, a native of Tokyo, Japan, who came to the Philippines on October 27.

The victim was traced to be residing at Mabini Street in Malate, Manila and was suffering from terminal cancer, which was possibly the reason why he committed suicide by shooting himself through the mouth with the bullet exiting in the right side of his head.

When the victim checked in at the hotel alone, he signed his name as one Sei Naito. He occupied Room 322 of the hotel.
Hotel workers found his body inside the bathroom, bathing in a pool of his own blood.

A Cal. 357 magnum, believed to have been used in shooting himself to death, was found near his body.

The Japanese consul, through an interpreter, traced the real identity of the victim through the latter’s signature in the hotel guest book, which was matched with his agriculture in his original passport issued by his government, Borromeo said.

From this information, the Japanese police gathered that the victim is from Tokyo and had relatives there.

The victim was brought to the Carmona Funeral Homes in Calasiao and is reportedly set for cremation at the request of his kin in Tokyo, Japan (PNA)
