ALAMINOS CITY – Vice Mayor Ruben M. Jose was chosen leader of the 125-member Vice Mayors League of the Philippines regional chapter during an election proper held at Vista de last Islas in barangay Lucap here.

The election was attended by all vice mayors in La Union, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte and Pangasinan.

Jose was supposed to face Vice Mayor Corazon B. Abad of Sarrat Ilocos Norte in a one-on-duel for the chapter’s presidency but the latter backed out at the last minute in a show of sportsmanship.

The election was hosted by Alaminos Vice Mayor Teofilo Humilde, president of the Vice Mayor’s League Pangasinan chapter.

Guest of honor and speaker in a program before the election was Mayor Hernani Braganza of Alaminos who welcomed the region’s vice mayors to his city.

Atty. Amante Purisima 111, Vice Mayor of San Idelfonso, Ilocos Sur, was elected vice mayor.

The other officers of the VMLP regional chapter are Vice Mayors Corazon Abad, Regional of Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Secretary General; Ferdinand Galang, of Calasiao, Pangasinan, Treasurer; Victor Marvin Marron of Luna, La Union, Auditor; Haydee Soriano of URbiztondo, Pangasinan, press relation officer.
