GRADUATING high school students who have a knack for the sciences can now avail of scholarships in degree programs sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology.

DOST, thru the Science Education Institute (SEI) will grant the 2008 Science and Technology Scholarships (RA 7687) and 2008 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarships (Merit) to fourth year students who wish to pursue courses in the field of sciences.

An applicant must belong to the upper 5% of the high school graduating class, a natural born Filpino citizen, in good health, of good moral character and a qualifier of the Science and Technology Scholarship Examination.

Deadline for the filing of applicants is on November 16, 2007. The applicant must bring a photocopy of birth certificate and 2006 income tax return of parents or BIR Tax Exemption Certificate.

The Science and Technology National Examination is scheduled on January 13, 2008 at designated test centers.
