Bugayong seeks re-election as Mangaldan Poblacion kagawad
MANGALDAN – A hardworking educator-turned-barangay councilman is seeking re-election in this October 29 barangay elections.
Lito Bugayong, a well-known political leader in this town’s barangay circles who had once tried his luck as town councilor-candidate but lost, believes his destiny could be “to help my barangaymates to the fullest using my background and insights as educator to bring comfort to the villages.”
Author or co-author of various socio-civic oriented resolutions in the Poblacion area, Bugayong said he wants a fresh mandate to continue among other pursuits, the feeding program for malnourished/undernourished schoolkids he actively helped start at the Central School.
An anti-gambling crusader likewise, he was among the “activist ” barangay officials who denounced jueteng and other gambling practices in the town in the past for which the Poblacion Council received a commendation from no less than Lingayen-Dagupan
Archbishop Oscar Cruz, the nationally-recognized founder of the Krusada Laban sa Jueteng.
Bugayong, married to former United Coconut Planters Bank supervisor Marietta E. Bugayong, also spearheaded the first-ever giving of commendation and recognition awards to Bar and Board passers from the poblacion area.
