THE youngest municipal councilor of Anda town was found dead inside his room at their business residence in Poblacion Sual at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

All indications point to a suicide as the dead town alderman, Councilor Charles Lee Kiongson, 23, appears to have written a note that was found near his body.

The victim obviously shot himself in the left temple with the bullet exiting to the right. A nine-millimeter pistol was found beside him.

The suicide note found by investigators showed that the councilor committed suicide due to a personal problem he did not disclose.

Kiongson’s body was found lying on his bed inside his room by his father, Reynaldo, a businessman and also a former municipal councilor of Anda.

The elder Kiongson knocked at the door of his son’s room to inform him of the scheduled session of the municipal council of Anda, Pangasinan but he got no response. This prompted him to climb over to the rooftop of their kitchen where he peeped through the window glass of the room and saw the bloodied head of his son in bed.

The elder Tiongson and members of their household panicked, so they broke inside the room where they discovered that the councilor was already dead, from one gun shot wound on the head.

Recovered beside the victim’s body was a Caliber 9mm pistol marked Taurus loaded with 10 live bullets,an empty cartridge case, including the suicide note, were found by investigators.

The body was brought tot eh Gethsamine Funeral Homes in Alaminos City for autopsy.
