LINGAYEN – The provincial board again held an out-of-town session on Monday in Labrador town, a part of the second district of Pangasinan.

Vice Governor Marlyn Primicias led members of the provincial board in trooping to Bugallon for the out-of-town session, its second since the new provincial administration began its reign.

POLICE Provincial Director Chief Supt. Leopoldo Bataoil called on the people, especially from far-flung barangays, to be on alert as the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) may take advantage of the situation and influence the outcome of the coming barangay elections.

“It is important that we will be able to prevent the CPP-NPA terrorist armed groups from influencing the outcome of the barangay elections,” Bataoil said in a news conference here on Wednesday. Read the rest of this entry »



THE city’s 31 barangays recently received their share of barangay development fund (BDF) worth P100,000 from the city government.

Mayor Alipio F. Fernandez , Jr. has ordered the city budget office to release the BDF in the middle of August. It was not clear what caused the slight delay in the release.

“This is a big amount that could initiate projects beneficial to barangay constituencies that is why barangay officials should take responsibility seriously,” the mayor said. Read the rest of this entry »
