Renewal of sisterhood ties with Milpitas city, CA okayed

THE city council headed by Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez passed a resolution seeking to renew the sisterhood agreement between Dagupan City and Malpitas City California whose mayor, Jose Estevez is from Dagupan.

Councilor Jose Netu Tamayo, chair of the committee on tourism in the city council, said Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. is set to go to the U.S. sometime in October to sign this agreement with his counterpart, Mayor Estevez of Milpitas City.

A son of a lawyer from Dagupan, Esteves studied at the University of Pangasinan and University of the Philippines.

“We wish to renew our sisterhood agreement and make it more active agreement,” said Tamayo who revealed that the part between the two cities that started in 2005 is now subject for renewal.

He said they expect better communication and joint project ventures between the two cities in the new sisterhood agreement to be signed in Milpitas.
