Manila ‘Akyat bahay’ gang members nabbed in Pangasinan

ASINGAN – Members of the “Akyat Bahay” gang in Metro Manila might now have expanded their operations in the provinces.
Police expressed this possibility after members of “Akyat-Bahay” gang from Caloocan and Malabon cities were arrested on Sunday, victimizing a family in Asingan.

Arrested by the Asingan Police with the help of the Binalonan Police were one Manolito Vargas, driver, and Mike Manuel Asinep, 27, both of Dagat-Dagatan, Pajo, Calooocan City.

The other suspect was Rey Mira of Maya-Maya Street in barangay Longos, Malobon City who was arrested by the Urdaneta Police that set up a checkpoint along a road in barangay Caboloan, Urdaneta from Asingan town.

All three, including an unidentified companion who was able to escape, barged inside the house of couple Ignacio and Perlita Salvador in barangay Palaris, Asingan at 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Suspects Vargas and Asinep were on board a Mitsubishi L-300 Van with Plate Number XFW-110, registered in the name of one Marinela Reyes of 200 Hi-Way Road, Macamot, Binangonan, Rizal, when they were arrested.

The third suspect, Mira, was aboard an Isuzu car of the victim and was in possession of a Caliber .380 stainless pistol with one magazine when he was arrested while escaping.

All the suspects barged inside the house of the Salvadors at about 1:30 a.m., using the terrace at the second floor and once inside, held the occupants at gunpoint before searching for valuables.

The Salvadors reported to the police that the suspects carted away assorted jewelry, appliances and equipment worth more or less P325,000 which wee loaded into the Isuzu vehicle owned by them.

Mira is now detained at the Urdaneta Police jail while Vargas and Asinep are detained at the Asingan police jail pending the filing of formal charges against them. (PNA)
