1 of 3 jail escapees during a town-wide brownout recaptured
BAYAMBANG – One of three detention prisoners who escaped from the Bayambang Police Jail on Aug. 17 at 11:45 p.m. at the height of a town-wide brownout was recaptured by the police, it was learned on Sunday.
Recaptured was Ramil Junio who escaped with one Milfred Solis and John Rafael Nicasio by sawing off the window grills at the back of the detention cell during a brownout caused by heavy downpour triggered by typhoon “Egay”.
Junio was recaptured in a pursuit operation conducted by the police led by Inspector Mario Estrada.
Policemen learned about the jailbreak when other inmates of the police station jail shouted, prompting jail/building guard of SPO1 Benjamin Bugayong to investigate.
Junio is facing a case of homicide while Solis is an escapee at the Urayong Rehabilitation Center in Bauang, La Union and facing cases for robbery and theft. Nicasio is facing a separate case for theft.
