Savellano proclaimed Ilocos Sur governor
VIGAN CITY – The Provincial Board of Canvassers proclaimed on Thursday all the winners in the provincial elections in Ilocos Sur.
The Canvassing Board chaired by Joel Gines, Ilocos Sur Provincial Election Supervisor, declared Deogracias Victor “DV” B. Savellano as the newly-reelected governor of Ilocos Sur.
Savellano garnered 132,656 votes to beat his closest rival Efren “Rambo” Rafanan who registered 131,264 votes or a difference of only 1,392 votes.
Savellano is the incumbent governor of the province.
Also proclaimed were re-electionist Congressman Eric Singson, winning in the second district congressional race; and Ronald Singson, winner of the first district congressional race.
Incumbent Provincial Board Member Jeremias Singson, brother of outgoing Governor Luis Chavit Singson, was proclaimed the new vice governor.
Proclaimed as newly-elected members of the provincial board are Ismael Baterina, Azucena Purisima, Ronnie Rapanut, Orlino Tesoro and Gerardo Lahoz, all from the first district; and Zuriel Zaragosa, Robert Tudayan, Rosario Geronilla, Jose Bonoan Jr. and Peter Manzano; all from the second district.
In Vigan City, unopposed Eva Marie Singson Medina, wife of incumbent City Mayor Ferdinand Medina, was proclaimed city mayor with incumbent City Vice Mayor Frans Ranchez as re-elected city vice mayor. (PNA)
