New VMUF lawyers feted

SAN CARLOS CITY –– Five graduates of the Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (VMUF) here successfully passed the September 2006 Bar Examinations given by the Supreme Court released April 3.

Justice Nicodemo T. Ferrer, dean of the college of law identified the university’s new lawyers as Atty. Hercules R. Doria of San Carlos City, Pangasinan; Atty. Kristine C. Aquino-Ferrer of Malasiqui, Pangasinan; Atty. Jonathan R. Lomboy, Atty. Esmeralda P. Sabangan and Atty. Joseph Amadito A. Samson, all of San Carlos City, Pangasinan.

Lawyers Doria and Aquino-Ferrer are quality products of the VMUF-Special Science High School of batch 1995 graduating with flying colors. Lawyers Aquino-Ferrer and Sabangan also finished their pre-law courses, Bachelor of Arts degrees at the VMUF.

Dr. Ma. Lilia P. Juan, VMUF president and Dr. Angelo B. Juan, VMUF vice-president for administration congratulated the new lawyers for bringing honor to the entire VMUF Community.

The new lawyers will be conferred academic honors and recognition during the 2007 Solemn Investiture for having contributed to the attainment of VMUF’s 62.50 percent passing rate, surpassing the national passing rate of 30.60 percent.

The VMUF administration also commended Dean Ferrer and the entire teaching force and its staff at the college of law for maintaining academic excellence in the University.

This Friday’s Solemn Investiture will have for its guest of honor and commencement speaker Dr. Eduardo C. Janairo, region I director of the Department of Health based in San Fernando City, La Union.

The VMUF-College of Law is among the country’s youngest schools of law. It was the brainchild of the late Dr. Martin P. Posadas, VMUF founding president, who decided to establish and actually opened the College of Law beginning with the school year 1994-1995 together with the late Regional Trial Court Judge Artemio R. Corpus, founding dean. .

The College of Law has a separate library duly managed by qualified and competent librarians. All classrooms including the law library and the dean’s office of the College of Law are fully air-conditioned and equipped with comfortable seats and suitable writing tables.
