Lims gaining believers in barangay campaigns

FOURTH district congressional bet Benjamin S. Lim and Dagupan City mayoralty candidate Brian C. Lim and his ticket received warm reception from residents during their campaign sorties in various areas of Mangaldan and Dagupan.

The elder Lim is the incumbent mayor of Dagupan City while young Brian is his chief of staff and the chief executive officer (CEO) and general manager of the Magic Group of Companies.

The two Lims jointly kicked off their campaign sortie on April 2 in barangays Tebeng and Mayombo.

The two also campaigned together in barangays Bacayao Sur and Mamalingling (April 3), Mangin and Lasip Chico (April 4), Amado Tapuac and Lucao (April 9), Malued and Pantal (April 10) and Carael and Calmay (April 11).

The Lim team is called “Team NEW-PO” composed of a new breed of politicians fostering better governance.

“Say labay ton ibaga iyay Team NEW-PO et balon politika, matoor, malinis, tan sinseron panoley,” the young Lim said in their barangay tours.

Mayor Lim also held a rally in various barangays of Mangaldan on April 10. These included Guiguilonen, Nibaliw and Navaluan. Another rally was held the next day at Gueguesangen and Alitaya also in Mangaldan.

Last Thursday, the young Lim together with his partymates held a campaign sortie at Lasip Grande and Barangays 2 & 3, while Mayor Lim held a rally in other parts of Mangaldan namely Guesang, Amansabina, David and Tebag.

Lim said that he could have detached himself from the realm of politics after six years of service to Dagupan, but due to some circumstances that have hampered social services to Dagupeños, he is now running for a seat in Congress to better help his districtmates and citymates.

He said that these ‘circumstances’ included the broken promise of funds for the Bangus Processing Plant which could have provided jobs to hundreds of Dagupeños and building of additional housing units for poor Dagupeños.

Crowds at the Lim rallies average 500 persons every night.
