E-Day will be brownout-free, Transco assures

A VIRTUAL “power” meeting is set on Tuesday April 17 at the Dagupan Village Hotel between power distributors, the police and the Commission on Elections to ensure a brownout-free election in Pangasinan.
Department Manager Jose Arellano of the National Transmission Corporation district III based in San Manuel said that the meeting also aims to establish a communication center that will facilitate effective transfer of information during normal and abnormal conditions and to ensure security of transmission facilities.
Electric cooperatives Panelco I, Cenpelco, and Panelco III and power firm Decorp were invited to the meeting along with police and election officials.
Transco has always taken extra efforts to inform government agencies and other partners in the energy and power sector about its plans and emergency measures during special national events to better assure accomplishment of set national goals and concerns.
It is expected at the Tuesday meeting that local concerns will be fully ventilated and answered, especially as regards power utilities’ capacities and capabilities for quick response during the crucial counting and tabulation period of the elections.(PIA/DOS)
