Fil-Chinese top guns appeal to Calderon for Purisima stay
THE Filipino-Chinese of Commerce of Pangasinan (FCCCP) has issued an appeal for the retention of Provincial Police Director Alan L.M. Purisima.
In a press conference last Friday, Engr. Rosendo So, FCCCP president, questioned the timing of Purisima considering the recent accomplishments of the provincial police.
These include, he said, the arrest in Bolinao of the leader of the notorious Pepino Kidnap-for-Ransom group, and the successful anti-illegal drugs raids conducted at Doña Trining Subdivision in Urdaneta City. Not to mention PPPO’s being chosen as the Best Police Provincial Office in Region 1 for year 20006, he added..
“One thing with him is he is a very professional policeman.,” So said. “
“Hindi siya pumupunta sa mga politicians, hindi siya pumupunta kay bishop, sa mga individual businessmen. Ang pinupuntahan niya ay sa okasyon na may activities na public knowledge. We’re just wondering why the pressure on him when he only (has) four months left before he finishes his two-year tour of duty in Pangasinan.
The FCCCP made the same move last year when Purisima was hastily relieved. With FCCP’s petition including those from political leaders and other groups in the province, Purisima was reinstated.
“Medyo mahihirapan kami this time dahil pinirmahan na ni Gen. Calderon,” So admitted.
“We will try our best na ilaban ito. Ang appeal natin ay baka puwede nilang i-reconsider at i-retain si Col. Purisima. Gusto lang naming malaman nila sa taas na yong ginagawa nila will affect the business sector and the people of Pangasinan,” he said.
