SMORGASBORD / A bank for everybody
By LIWAY C. MANANTAN-YPARRAGUIRRE
THE Veterans Bank, Lingayen branch located at the Poblacion, has transferred to its new home just a few meters away from the old one across the town plaza.
The blessing was held last December 5 with Gov. Victor Agbayani, Lingayen Mayor Jonas Castañeda, and PhilHealth Regional Director Ernie Beltran as special guests.
Branch Manager Tet Manauel was joined by Michael Angelo C. Villa-Real, VP-Corporate Communications and Marketing Services Department; VP Ben Monzones and North Luzon Area Head Paul Tuazon.
Thanks for the invite kuya Leo Paragas, I discovered a bank where I (and our readers) can open a savings account that is worry-free.
Why worry-free? Well, you can open a savings account for P1,000, and the maintaining balance is only at P1,000.
I maintain a savings account at a different bank but the maintaining balance is P5,000 (it will not earn interest at that level, worst a certain amount will be deducted every month if you go below P5,000). And for your savings to earn interest, it should be at P10,000 minimum.
The Veterans Bank, said Mr. Villa-Real, is not only for veterans but for everybody. It offers the same services as other commercial banks. with the lowest opening account
The service is fast, he said, but word of caution, do not time your visit at the bank on the 20th of the month (and the whole of that week) as it’s the veterans’ pension day. Meaning, transaction is heavy.
