LAOAC romped off with the overall championship in this year’s Municipal and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation for Nutrition Program (MELLPI) and received P5,000.00 and plaque of recognition for the achievement.

Burgos copped second place and received P4,000 plus plaque of recognition, followed by Basista which received P3,000 and a plaque of recognition.

The awarding rites was held Wednesday at the Hotel Consuelo Chinese Restaurant in Lingayen.

The towns of Sto. Tomas, Bani, Agno, Calasiao, Alcala, Bolinao Binmaley, Sison, Umingan, Rosales, San Quintin, Asingan, Urbiztondo and Bayambang also received plaques of recognition.

Meanwhile San Jacinto, Mangatarem, Lingayen, Manaoag, Dasol and Mapandan received certificates of appreciation.

Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholars were also awarded. They were Dominga A. Elarde of Buneg, Pozurrubio, Lourdes R. Samaneigo of Sapa Grande, Burgos and Rosana T. Laderas of Cacayasen, Burgos. Each received cash prizes and plaque of recognition.

Gov. Victor E. Agbayani hailed the nutrition workers as “our frontline worker’s in his effort to push human resources development in the province.
