Former scholar named prov’l planning officer

LINGAYEN – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan has confirmed the appointment of Ms. Norma Landingin Untalan as provincial planning and development officer replacing Tom Teja who retired last December.

Untalan has been serving as assistant provincial planning officer since 1998.

She finished her Bachelor of Science in Education degree cum laude at the University of Pangasinan where she also earned her Master of Arts in Education. She was with the university faculty as high school teacher from 1967 to 1977.

She later joined government service in 1977 as statistician at the governor’s office.

Untalan said the province’s development plan is concentrated on five major areas: increased agricultural productivity, infrastructure development, human resources development, trade and tourism promotion, and industrialization. (Jennifer Domantay/PIO)
