Dagupan City Mayor Benjie Lim issued this short, crisp answer to a newsman’s query during last Thursday’s presscon regarding the possible inclusion of the proposed bangus processing plant in the major infra projects for implementation under the North Luzon Agribusiness Quadrangle (NLAQ) plan.
Lim also gave a very short answer to a question whether he was informed of the supposed P100 million-grant being worked out by House Speaker Jose de Venecia, saying he only learned about it thru the media.

AN interesting legal battle looms with the move of Dagupan Electric Corporation to sue the city government over the latter’s demand for payment of assessed real property taxes (RPT) due on its 6,417 electric poles scattered all over the city.
Included as defendant in the landmark civil case is City Treasurer Romelita Alcantara who signed the demand letter asking Decorp to pay its assessed tax due for its electric poles.
Decorp filed the civil case before the Regional Trial Court after the city treasurer sent a statement of account for RPT due on electric poles and a copy of Decorp’s tax declaration No. 23-701-1, demanding from the company payment of unpaid taxes due the city government amounting to P4,497,000.33

THE Dagupan government will consult experts to study the flooding problem in the city spurred by the rise of tide, even if it is not raining much.
In a talk over a radio station, Mayor Benjamin Lim said he will immediately call representatives of the Department of Public Works and Highways and the City Engineers Office to hold a coordinating conference to address the flood problem.
He said he was aware that Dagupan is one meter below sea level, thus the occurrence of flood is not a surprise anymore to many.

DAGUPAN City Mayor Benjamin S. Lim expressed full support to the “super region” concept describing it as “a very good plan.”
Interviewed after a press conference with Secretary Arthur C. Yap, “champion” for the North Luzon Agribusiness Quadrangle where he was also present, Lim said the idea will make the different regions cohesive in the implementation of their various projects and thus avoid parochialism.
