4 illegal recruitment suspects nabbed in Alaminos

ALAMINOS – Four suspected illegal recruiters were caught by the police in an entrapment operations inside a restaurant here Wednesday after receiving marked money from their supposed victims.

The suspects were identified as Romeo Cabradilla, 47, his wife Conchita, 46, their son Ronie, 21, all of barangay Nangalisan, Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur, and Rodelito Suyat, 52, of barangay Carrot, Anda.

They were arrested on the complaint of three persons, namely Ronnie Osoria, 31; Lomer Caluya, 25; and Cristopher Cruz, 27, all of Bolinao, who were being recruited for supposed jobs in Singapore.

The police learned that it was Suyat who contacted the Cabradillas from Ilocos Sur for them to come to Alaminos and meet three overseas job applicants to receive from them P25,000 each or P75,000 as payment for their plane tickets to Singapore.

Plainclothes elements of the Alaminos police, 106th Police Mobile Group, Regional Intelligence and Investigation Division and of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group swooped down on the suspects as they were transacting business with the complainants inside Cindy’s Restaurant.

Found from Mrs. Cabradilla was the P1,920 marked cash placed in a business envelope that was handed by the job applicants.

Others found from her were two pieces of one U.S. dollar bill a Singaporean dollar and one unit of cellular phone.

All the suspects were lodged at the Alaminos City jail and are now awaiting the filing of formal charges against them for illegal recruitment. (PNA)
