Equatorial Guinea president opens country’s door to Pinoys
EQUATORIAL Guinea President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo admitted that there are now some 3,000 Filipinos working in Equatorial Guinea, mostly in the petro-chemical industry.
He said having known and observed these workers and found them very qualified and experienced, he decided on a state visit to the Philippines.
Obiang expressed hope that his visit to the Philippines, his first ever, will open the door for other Filipino workers to go to his country.
Equatorial Africa is an oil-rich West Africa nation which has become the richest of the six nations in the Economic and Monetary Community of Central African States.
He said they need Filipino workers, in various areas particularly in the processing of gas, in agriculture and fishing, construction, furniture-making and in developing his country’s human resources.
