Gilon!, Bangus ed Karosa fused for one big event

FOR the first time since the start of the Bangus Festival four years ago, two major events which have been done in the past on two separate dates will be fused in one major day event on April 29 to bring more delight to onlookers and visitors.

Gilon! Gilon! Street Dancing and Bangus ed Karosa, the two major events, will start at 2 p.m. and will pass through the main streets of the city.


Louie Gutierrez of the Dagupan Bangus Jaycees, this year’s project chairperson of the street dancing competition said Gilon! Gilon! street dance aims to place emphasis on Dagupan City as the trading and commercial center of Northern Luzon aside from showcasing the city’s culture, heritage and lifestyle.

Participant’s coming from the different barangays in the city have confirmed to join the contest. These are barangays: Lucao, Lasip, Herrero-Perez, Mangin, Pogo Chico, Poblacion Oeste, Malued, Pogo Grande, Barangay I, Tambac, Pantal, and Barangay IV.

Coming together as one participant are Lasip-Chico and Calmay: and Tebeng, Salisay and Mamalingling. Assembly point will be at the Dagpan City National High-School passing through Perez Boulevard, M.H. del Pilar, A.B. Fernandez Avenue and on to the Astrodome for the final showdown.

Bangus ed Karosa, a grand creative float parade and competition, on the other hand will start from the Astrodome moving behind Gilon! Gilon! and will end at the city plaza.
