Bangus Festival features Bikini Open Contest

PISTA’Y Dayat (Sea Festival) the yearly summer spectacle in Dagupan City will sizzle even more with the inclusion of “Bangus Festival King and Queen,” the Bikini Open Quest, on April 27 at the City Museum.
Fourth district towns are being invited to join this year’s contest and send in their contestants.

The competition is open to male and female of any nationality. A candidate must be 18 years old and above, at least 5’7 tall for males and 5’4 for females; has a good moral character and a pleasing personality.

Interested candidates may submit their 3R close-up and whole body photos with duly accomplished application form and a photocopy of their birth certificate and residence certificate to the Bangus Festival secretariat. Deadline for submission of application forms is on March 30.


“The contestants will display creativity, because we will select candidates with the best festival costume which will surely give more color to the competition,” Cecil Jimenez III, event chairman for the male category, said.

Aside from the title of Mr. and Ms. Bangus King and Queen and two runners up, the other awards up for picking include Mr. and Ms. Personality, Mr. and Ms. Congeniality, Best In Swimwear and Mrs. And Ms. Photogenic.

Contest organizers have announced the semi-final competitions schedule thus: San Fabian town plaza, April 1, 7pm; Manaoag town plaza, April 2, 7pm; San Jacinto town plaza, April 8, 7pm; and Mangaldan town plaza, April 9, 7pm.
