Scores dead, hundreds injured in Wowowee stampede
Pangasinenses watched in shock today as television giant ABS-CBN aired its live coverage of the aftermath of an early morning stampede at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City, where the first anniversary of its noontime television show, “Wowowee” was to be held.
At least 70 people, mostly elderly women, have been confirmed dead while some 283 others have been reported injured and were rushed to nearby hospitals.
President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has ordered an immediate investigation of the tragedy that forced ABS-CBN officials to postpone today’s showing of the popular noontime show.
No Pangasinense has been reported killed in the stampede. But the provincial government has been coordinating with various government agencies to find out if there were Pangasinense victims.
“Wowowee,” which has been giving millions of prizes to its studio contestants and home viewers, once held a live show in Dagupan City, drawing at least a hundred thousand people in an open field beside a mall.

i think ABS-CBN is a big culpability in terms of blaming of why it was happened because if we based on the stories behind the scene of contestants……it has an anomalies regarding the distribution of the tickets….well, ABS-CBN must faced their consequences because they are not caring the emotion of others…..

for those who react for my comment….pls be realize the truth of consequences….i think it is right because if we see to the deep why it was happened….dapat and woweee knows about this reality that a lot of filipinos wanted to won….so, they must put som strategies so that it is easier to get the ticket. unfortnately, did not. they treat like an animals….thats very sad as a human…..
