Business taxes payment deadline reset to Feb. 17
The deadline for the payment of business taxes in the city has been extended to February 17, 2006.
The new deadline was set by the Sangguniang Panlungsod after the Pangasinan Accountants and Bookkeeper Association asked the city government for extension saying they are still “in the process of computing the annual sales and securing barangay clearances for their clients.”
In a resolution, the SP noted that the city government’s One Stop Business did not object to the request, “considering that the process of business permit renewal has been modified to the system of computerized payment and assessment.”
Under the law, all local taxes, fees and charges shall be paid within the first twenty (20) days of January or of each subsequent quarter, as the case may be.
However, the Sanggunian concerned may, for a justifiable reason or cause, extend the time for payment of such taxes, fees or charges without surcharge or penalties, but only for a period not exceeding six months.
The SP resolution was approved unanimously.
