Congratulations to police officers Jessie Cardona (deputy provincial director for operation), Eduardo Dopale (Pozorrubio police chief) and Fausto Cayabyab (provincial inspectorate) for having been promoted to full colonel recently. From the rank of Superintendent, they were promoted to Senior Superintendent. (Pretty soon though, they will be transferred to the regional office – which regional office, no one still knows.)

The three were among the 164 police superintendents who received their New Year’s gift. What a pleasant way to welcome 2006.

Cardona said they took their oath last January 6 at Camp Crame before PNP Chief Director Gen. Arturo C. Lomibao.

Gilbert, the ecstatic father, wasted no time and dashed to the Region I Medical Center in Dagupan City from Pozorrubio when he was informed his daughter was rushing to be born into the world. Out the little angel went.

Learned from DPWH Regional Director Fidel Ginez last Saturday that the bidding for the Pantal bridge project (a component of the Dawel-Pantal-Lucao diversion road) is scheduled on January 24.

The length of the Pantal bridge is 300 meters while the Dawel-Pantal-Lucao diversion road is 4.9 kilometers long. The diversion road will be ready by June 2007.

Ginez reiterated there is no “original” Dawel-Pantal-Lucao road plan as there was “only one plan,” and that the project was approved during the incumbency of DPWH Sec. Simeon Datumanong, when the regional director was Engr. Josefino Rigor, his predecessor All they did, Ginez said, was to implement it.
