Governor delivers SOPA Jan 12
LINGAYEN – Gov. Victor E. Agbayani will deliver his report to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan or the State of the Province Address (SOPA) on Thursday, January 12, at the SP session hall at 8 a.m.
Department heads and employees from various offices of the provincial government, Sangguniang Panlalawigan members led by Vice Gov. Oscar Lambino, officials and staff of various line agencies and barangay workers are also expected to flock to Urduja to take part in the traditional Thanksgiving Mass and courtesy call which will follow the SOPA at 9 a.m.
The governor will spell out the gains achieved by the province in various major development thrusts, notably in agriculture, health and hospital reforms, population management, employment and trade generation, human resources development, environmental conservation and protection, tourism and peace and order.
Agbayani is also expected to lay down his administration’s priority thrusts for this year, to include the generation of more livelihood opportunities, coastal resources and watershed development, reforestation, agricultural production, nutrition and health, solid waste management, trade and tourism, and income and employment generation.
To boost the campaign against poverty, the provincial government is expected to strengthen and expand efforts to create new wealth and more jobs through the governor’s small and medium enterprises development program, goat trading and breeding program, and the partnership in gender and development forged with the Land Bank of the Philippines.
Additional tourism projects will also be undertaken including the ongoing restoration of the Capitol building and the improvement of Maramba Boulevard and the Capitol Park.
After the SOPA, Gov. Agbayani and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalwigan led by Vice Gov. Lambino will received guests and well-wishers during the annual courtesy call at the Urduja lobby. (PIO)
